CBD and Hemp

CBD comes from Hemp. Hemp (known as Asa) is a plant that has been cultivated for a long time. It has been widely used in the world since the civilization of China, India, Egypt, Assyria, Persia, Greece, and Rome. In Japan, it has been used in various forms as part of people’s lives since the Jomon period (14,000–300 BCE).
Hemp is an extremely versatile plant that is used in many different ways in Japan.

Hemp trunk is used as the base of the thatched roof of the world heritage “Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri”

In addition to its many industrial and ceremonial uses, hemp is a powerhouse of nutrition! (1)

What is CBD

More than 100 kinds of plant-based cannabinoids have been found in Hemp. The most famous of these cannabinoids are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD).
THC is the cannabinol known for having a psychoactive effect. The use of THC is prohibited by the Cannabis Control Law of Japan. CBD and THC are completely different. Even medical cannabis cannot be used under Japanese law because it contains THC in addition to CBD.

CBD is Not the Same as Medical Marijuana

While some people confuse CBD with medical marijuana, they are not the same. Medical marijuana contains both THC (the chemical that is known for creating a “high” and is often restricted) and CBD. CBD is very different from THC. CBD is extracted from hemp, a very different strain of the cannabis plant.

CBD and the Endocannabinoid System

Found by scientists in the early 1990s, the endocannabinoid system is a complex regulating and signaling system that affects many parts of our body. The job of the endocannabinoid system is to help keep the body in balance so it can function with optimal health. (*3, *4)

The endocannabinoid system regulates things such as:

Cannabinoids are nutrients that work in conjunction with the endocannabinoid system. Even in small amounts, they have a role in regulating the physiological work of the body.

Stress, aging, and environmental factors also take a toll on the endocannabinoid system.

As a result of stress, aging, and environmental factors, the function of the endocannabinoid system declines and gradually becomes more and more depleted of cannabinoids.

Using CBD is an incredible way to increase your body’s natural cannabinoid levels.

CBD may be the most effective way to replenish the endocannabinoid system and support overall health.

Some natural substances such as Grapefruit juice may interact with medication. If you are taking any prescriptions, please check to see if CBD will interact with your medications.
